September 15th, 2008 PSP Instructors
September is about the time we can expect a new version of PSP. This year that isn’t quite in the cards, though. I say “not quite” because Corel has just announced the release of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 Ultimate. This package includes a somewhat enhanced version of PSPPX2, with some bug fixes, added Vista compatibility, and some additional Picture Frames and Picture Tubes. There are also a few things bundled in: a 2GB flash drive, file recovery software, Corel Painter Essentials 4, and the Background Remover plugin from ImageSkill. I’m particularly interested in the inclusion of Background Remover, a nifty plugin selling for $49 on its own – which is just $11 less than the PSPPX2 Ultimate upgrade price.
I just ordered my copy of PSPPX2 Ultimate a couple days ago. When it comes in, I’ll let you know what I think. In the meantime, if you’re interested in checking out the enhancements in this not-quite-a-new-release, download the trial version and give it a spin.
