Laura,
I really enjoyed your class and discovered a new talent I never knew I had! You have been so supportive and encouraging, I know I will be writing poetry for years to come. Thanks so much!
Poetry (Diamante Poem)
Poetry
Reflective, powerful
Moving, releasing, capturing
Honest, heartfelt, treasured, poignant
Alluring, soothing, pleasing
Beautiful, romantic
Music
I Used to…But Now
I used to worry about what was said,
but now I just walk past and raise my head.
I used to ask God to bring you to me,
but now I know it is not to be.
I used to love the moments we spent,
but now I am grateful and reminisce.
I used to cry myself to sleep,
but now I found the strength I need.
I used to love you beyond words,
but now you are no longer the person I fell in love with
and I can only hurt for what you had and lost.
Sadness
The unbearable weight carried by your heart
As the last breath you will ever take,
Flowing tears never knowing an end
Taste of melancholy memories,
Yearning for what was,
Knowing that it will never be.
Dreams
Dreams are the double mirror,
Tickets to our past,
Moments with those forgotten but once loved,
Wishes for a return passage.
A crystal ball to our future,
Hidden desires never admitted,
Hopes which make the heart beat on.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Laura King, our Poetry Class teacher for her patience, honest reviews, feedbacks and motivation, and to all the members of the class for their encouragement and support (especially Julie Kirk). I have learned a lot during the course and tell everyone who wants to indulge in the aroma of a poetry class that Laura King lit up as a gentle candle that soothes the senses and burns as a guide to those who have a need for poetic fulfillment of their souls.
Also, I loved and enjoyed Kathy’s, Orpha’s and Juli’e poetry and would like to stay in touch with these wonderful ladies.
