Dear LVS Student…past, present or future,
Discover the Poet Inside You is a six-week introductory poetry course focused on finding your poetic voice. If you enroll in this class, the lessons will start you on a playful and reflective journey of words and rhythms.
Beyond the lessons, you will find this site growing every day…with poetry models, word play and poetry exercises, and links to other poetry sites. I encourage you to post your own poems on the student page!
This site will also help advertise this course to the e-world out there! The more you interact with this site, the better chance it will be discovered by others in the internet world.
So…if you are an LVS student, I hope you enjoy the first lesson. Read lots of poems, share your thoughts/ideas/questions…there’s lots to discover. If you are not currently an lvs student–welcome (back?!) Please let us know what you think!
Please consider devoting some time to the words inside you! Another session of “Discover the Poet Inside You” is about to start at LVS Online–regisitration for the March ‘09 session is currently open. Use the link at the right and visit the LVS SIte…there you will find all you need to register. Look for student poetry to be published here in the near future!

of seeing and believing that all this starstuff we live
Amounts to something worth living
something worth sharing
with its irregular rhythms and beats,
taking something off the street and shining it up,
launching it in the sky
as a way to answer, “Why?”

Possibility–counting to ten with eyes closed, then
Out for the run and “catch me if you can!” But wait!
