– It is necessary to acquire an appropriate touch when playing the piano. Many students sometimes dump their fingers into the keys. This gives a harsh tone. This can be corrected by explaining to the students the cause of finger dumping. This cause is playing the keys from a height rather than keeping close to the keys.

When playing piano pieces the music should sound buoyant
,not plodding and heavy, and thus, sound as though it is going somewhere. Poor buoyancy may often be caused by finger dumping into the keys.
