New PHP Study Group

Written by Bean on January 6, 2009 – 7:26 pm

LVS students have banded together to create a new PHP study group. This PHP study group is LVS students and alumni that want to help each other in their PHP pursuits. They are beginning with PHP for the World Wide Web, Second Edition (Visual QuickStart Guide) which is an excellent beginning PHP text.

You can join the PHP study group at Hello World.  Kudos to Bonnie and Joanne for taking the initiative to get this going!

Bean, thank you for letting your classes know about our new board. And, thank you too, for the great lessons that you provide in PHP 101.
We welcome one and all to join us to share in a group study of PHP. As Bean indicated, we are using the Larry Ullman and plan on going through by chapters and creating pages suggested by chapters and submitting them as a URL for fellow group members to see and comment.
Questions to the group and topics for discussion will help us all to understand PHP better.
And, if you need to rest your head briefly from too much PHP, then there are threads for digital art, traditional painting and photography. There is also a coffee shop for introducing yourself and discussing anything else that might be of interest to you.

So, come on over, look around, sign up and see if this board might provide support in what you want to do with PHP and other applications. A great supplement to your LVS PHP 101 with Bean.

Nothing more friendly than a group of people who share the same interests!
    Hello World

    Hope to see you there!
    Joanne

Its great to see students excited about learning more about PHP. I will be sticking my head into the message boards there on occasion to give a helping hand. Let me know if there is anything else that I can do to support the group :)

  3. ..and Kudos to Bean and Jer for creating another coding addiction for me and others! :D

We’re looking forward to meeting other PHP students!

I highly recommend PHP 101 to those of you who have finished the Build series and are not sure where to go from there.
I’ll have to say that like with any other course, you will get out of PHP what you put into it.
We made a store that opened and closed during hours we chose.
Used the arrays to randomize our images.
And, even used forms to post information from our users.
Connected to the LVS school database and more.
    (:
