Pneumonia vaccine…
I had a check up today and received a pneumonia vaccine.
It’s the first time I’ve had one.
I’d love to read your comments—if you’ve had this vaccination, what your thoughts are, etc.

Hypertension, High Blood Pressure, The Silent Killer
Hypertension is the medical term for high blood pressure. Blood pressure is defined as the force of our blood pushing against the walls of the arteries and vessels as the heart pumps out blood through out the body.
High blood pressure is known as the silent killer because there are little to no symptoms. It is usually detected when we go in for our routine physicals.
As I mentioned in a previous post, blood pressure is defined as high when it reaches 140/90. Our goal should be to keep the blood pressure below this, closer to 120/80.
When blood pressure becomes high, there can be damage and complications that arise from it. Here are just a few of the potential health problems:
Kidney damage
Heart Attack
Stroke
Vision problems
In the following posts, I will review a few steps towards maintaining or having a healthy blood pressure.

Some amazing heart facts!
We only have one heart. So it’s important that we take care of it. Here are some interesting and amazing facts about the human heart.
And as always, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Happy reading!
1. The heart beats about 100,000 times a day! Wow!
2. The heart is about the size of 1 1/2 to 2 clenched fists, in an adult. It always amazes me how something so small is so powerful!
3. The heart pumps around 2,000 gal. of blood every day.
4. The American Heart Association recommends blood pressure no higher than 140/90. By keeping your blood pressure below this you are protecting your blood vessels and heart.
Just a few facts about the fabulous organ, the human heart!

Super Mom!!!
Do you try to do it all? Are you a mom who feels that she is always on the go, always doing for others, and rarely caring for herself?
I know that at times I try to become super mom. I have to remind myself to slow down and take care of myself. If I’m not well, I can’t take care of others.
Registration open for the May session at lvsonline. See further info here: http://lvsonline.com/online-painter-classes/
