Are you going to get the flu vaccine? Why or why not? Are you concerned about the flu?
The CDC, Center for Disease Control, recommends the following:
1. Consider the flu vaccination. Consult with your physician if you have any questions regarding if this is appropriate for you.
2. Take preventative measures, such as avoiding those who are ill, washing your hands, covering your mouth and/or nose when sneezing.
3. Take antiviral medications if your doctor recommends them.
What are your thoughts on the vaccination?

I now have a headache. This could be caused from a variety of reasons for me. I have allergies and sinus issues which I believe is the culprit this time.
I’ve also been running around like mad lately with my kids, their sports, work, and volunteer work.
So for the rest of the evening, I plan on taking it easy, sipping a cup of hot tea with lots of honey, and drinking plenty of fluids. I will also make sure I am taking my allergy meds as well.
So…if you suffer from seasonal allergies, share with us. If you have any tips, ideas, or suggestions, post them here for everyone to benefit

If you have an interest in the medical field, there is a class just for you! It’s an LVS class, Understanding Medical Terminology. I love helping others learn how to understand medical terms and medical abbreviations. I have often had students tell me how fabulous it is to be able to read and understand their prescriptions and/or their medical condition! That is a fabulous feeling for me—as an instructor and as an RN. For me, you can never had too much information and/or knowledge.
You can sign up for the class here. I look forward to chatting with you soon!

Are you prepared? Do you have supplies ready in case of an emergency? Do you have medical supplies in place if there was a health crisis?
What do you have ready? Do you have a first aid kit? If so, what’s in it? As a nurse, I am always interested. I also sell first aid kits/products and health products so I am extra interested in what everyone has in place.
Here are a few things I have in my kit.
Scissors
Medical Tape
Band aids with different sizes
Gloves
Antibiotic ointment
Hydrogen Peroxide
Antiseptic wipes
Ibuprofen
Acetaminophen (Tylenol)
Thermometer–one that reads quickly in 10 seconds
