Why an Apple was good for me…

…because I unpacked the box, turned it on and could intuitively use it! My first computer back in the early 90s – an Apple Performa. No fuss, no nonsense – it just worked.

Having previously played with BBC basic (didn’t we all?) and used lumbering early word processors – IBM golfballs, IBM variable spacing typewriters and learning to type on a manual typewriter – it was brilliant, it was freedom!
