Flash is a tool for creating interactive and animated Web sites. Whether you’d like to spruce up your website with a bit of pizazz or create a complete Flash website, our Flash classes will lead the way for you. LVS offers Flash for beginners, intermediate, and advanced users.
Flash Intro Course:
This 6 week Intro course focuses on learning the interface, tools, and basic features of Flash. You will create animated logos, buttons, and simple movies to brighten up your web site.Flash is software which gives web developers the ability to create interactive, animated web sites. Before Flash appeared on the scene, creating animated web sites (especially with sound) involved using large, multiple files. This requires high bandwidth that the general public does not have. Flash files, in contrast, can be very small, so bandwidth is less of a concern. Flash also brings a level of advanced animation and interactivity previously unavailable using traditional Internet technology.
Flash Intermediate:
In this 6 week course, you’ll be introduced to more powerful features of Flash. This intermediate course will take you beyond the basics, exploring Flash further in depth. The course focuses on creating dynamic web sites using Interactivity and basic ActionScripting. At the completion of this course you will have learned all the necessary tools and features to create low-bandwidth animations, presentations, and vector-based Web sites. We begin this class where we left off in the Intro class. We delve into more complex animation which consists of mask and motion guides. You will be introduced to more symbols….animated graphic symbols and movie clips and adding and customizing sound. We discuss more complex interactivity between scenes and movie clips using Go To and With actions with frame numbers and frame labels. We wind the class up with creating a drop down menu and basic preloaders.
Flash Advanced:
Flash MX 2004, Flash 8, and CS3 came jam-packed with so many bells and whistles that it is necessary to have a class just on the new productivity features that were not included in the earlier Flash classes. This 6 week class explores these new features in Flash, such as Timeline Effects, Behaviors, Commands & Extensions, and Image in Textfields to name just a few.
Flash FX Part 1:
In this 6 week course, we’ll begin exploring how to use the concepts learned in Intro and Intermediate to create the animation effects that add spice to your Flash movies. This course will focus on applied Masking Techniques, Transition Techniques, Text Effect and Tips & Tricks to make your Flash life easier! Some of the effects include the use of Action Script; these will be explained and documented as necessary to allow you to use them without having to be an “Action Scripter”.
Flash FX Part 2:
In Part 2 of this 6 week course, we’ll begin exploring how to use the concepts learned in Intro and Intermediate to create the animation effects that add spice to your Flash movies. This course will focus on effects that are transferable to your Flash projects, 3D animations, ecards, and Tips & Tricks to make your Flash life easier! Some of the effects include the use of Action Script; these will be explained and documented as necessary to allow you to use them without having to be an “Action Scripter”.
