Flash Student Projects

Classrooms are open at LVS Online Classes for the March 2010 session! The first lesson posted on Saturday. After completing each lesson, students will submit their assignment for review on the private class message board. We would also like students of all Flash classes to post their movie project here on the Flash Class blog. Share what you learned with others and show off your creations!
Students from Flash CS4 Intro, Flash MX2004/8/CS3 Intro, Intermediate, Advanced, and Flash FX 1 and 2 classes will post here.
Students, please specify what class you are enrolled in when you post your weekly project.

I have played around with Flash for some time, but there were so many features that I wasn’t familiar with. I decided it was time to start from square one! I’m so glad I did. Besides learning that I can’t draw (haha), I did learn quite a bit. Knowing the ins and outs of all the tools is just amazing. If I was asked what my favorite part was about it, I’m not sure how’d I answer it, because there were a lot of new things covered for me. I did like learning about the gradients. I am really looking forward to learning more.

This is my first time in LVS, where I ‘ve attended a class in Flash CS4 Intro and another for ActionScript 3.0. I see that there is a systematic work in both theory and assignments. Please see my wk1 work (but not judge it too strictly

I am working in the Flash CS4 Into course.
I am an online science teacher and this is something I will be able to use in my course. It helps explain what the hydrogen spectrum is and how it helped scientists begin to decide about the electronic behavior of atoms.

I am an absolute beginner at Flash. Fortunately, LVS courses are really good, better than Adobe’s Classroom in a Book.
I have learned a great deal from lesson 1 -I no longer am TOTALLY bewildered when starting the program.

With this weeks lesson I found the aligning features really interesting. I have played around with flash myself, but never tried that part – I can see how those would be very handy.

I’m taking the FlashCS4 Intro course. I’ve used MX and taken the LVS courses, but never when further with it. I do a lot of web design graphics and use Photoshop, so I’ve been playing around with Flash. In the assignment link below, I not only used align to stack my objects, but used the order of the layers themselves to put some objects behind others. For example the triangle ears, I put one on a layer above the circle head and one on a layer behind the circle head, rather than put both ears and the head on a layer and do align. The curly-cue tail and leash layer is below the oval body layer putting the curly-cues behind the body. And behind all of the objects I put the transparent line grid layer.

This is my Week 4 assignment. I didn’t have the time to make it specific to my online science course but I will use the skill to make one for it. This was a very time-consuming lesson and I can see why after finishing it because we learned a lot.
