Instead of opening the News Flash program to make a change to your personal news items, open the text file News Flash creates and change the information located between the tags. Here’s an example from the lesson:

Board Meeting Tomorrow

There will be a board meeting tomorrow in the main clubhouse at
2:00pm

Change the information between the red item tags.
To add additional information, copy the item tags, place beneath the existing item tags and modify for the new, additional information.
It saves a little time by editing the text file instead of opening the program.
BTW, be sure to use a Text Editor, not a word processor.
Have fun!

OK…class has started, so let’s get a tip for the first lesson…the HTML Editor.
You want to create a site using CSS. Kewl…it’s what you should be doing, but you don’t know anything about CSS. No problem. The HTML Editor has a bunch of different CSS layouts to get you on the road.
Go to File/New from Layout and you’ll be presented with a whole list of CSS layouts. Just click on each option and you’ll see a preview of what it will look like. Of course, it’s up to you to “pretty it up” but you’ll certainly get a good start.

I’m very excited about the upcoming class featuring many of the CoffeeCup Software programs. It’s my hope there are a lot of you out there anxious to learn more about these wonderfully affordable programs and are willing and eager to learn more about them. Check out the course description here: http://www.lvsassociates.com/register/product_info.php?products_id=284
I’ll be going through several of the different titles, for example the HTML Editor, the Web Form builder, the RSS News Feed to name just a few.
I started using the HTML Editor back when CoffeeCup was just starting out (and so was I). We kind of “grew up” together. Back then, this was their only product. And, even now, it’s still the flagship of their line. The best part of getting any (or all) of their software, is that whatever you purchase allows you to get free upgrades – FOR LIFE! Try getting that from any other company. There are only one or two others that I’ve ever dealt with that do that. This one is the largest!
They’ve branched out and made remarkable improvements to this software and added a whole bunch of other software to compliment the editor and make designing websites a whole lot easier.
Whether you’re new to web design or have been doing it a while, there’s something in the line of products that you’ll love and use all the time. Even if you’ve never heard of their software, now’s as good a time as any to start learning about it. Tell all your friends and meet in the class and learn together. We’re going to have a lot of fun and learn how to use this software.
So…give the software a try, register for the class, tell all your friends and I’ll see you in march!
