ArtRage 2.5 Introduction Class
February 7th, 2008ArtRage is a fun and easy to use painting tool for Windows and Mac OSX that lets you play with realistic paints on your computer. ArtRage is an elegantly simple and straight forward draw-paint computer program. It is designed for artists in the traditional sense, people who put marks on canvas to convey their vision to others visually. This program doesn’t have most of those cute computer tools that artists at canvases don’t have either — it is simply a program for drawing and painting digitally.
I frequently found myself having to develop graphics of my analysis work on my Mac as its capabilities surpassed those of my employer. While taking traditional art courses I found myself figuring out how to use the techniques being taught on moderately priced consumer art computer programs. When ArtRage 2 was offered with expanded capabilities in February 2006 I found myself using it for most of my graphical painting efforts on both my Mac and Tablet PC.
Those of you who have been exposed to painting know there is an almost bewildering set of variations in brushes, paints, canvases etc. Artrage provides its user with a great default set to start with that actually allows you to move to cursor on the screen and paint on the canvas that is already there. Or you can choose the pencil and start drawing, or choose the chalk, etc.
Now with ArtRage 2.5 you have on-screen rulers, guides and stencils as well as the ability to make your own stencils. Also ArtRage 2.5 has the capability to manipulate each individual layer of your graphic.
