New Course Highlights
*Creating a Drupal Blog*
Drupal is a free and open source Content Management System written in PHP. With Drupal you can create a simple personal homepage, a company website, a blog, an ecommerce site, etc. Hundreds of modules are available for use with Drupal. You can create slide shows, events calendars, a contact form, product catalogs, polls or surveys, guestbook, a forum or blog, or newsletter signup. The possibilities are endless. Basically, there are no limits with Drupal, you really can make any type of website you want. No programming skills are required!
This online course is designed to take you through the development of your own Drupal web site. We will be doing a personal blog on whatever “G” rated subject that you choose. What is a weblog? A weblog, or “blog”, is a personal journal on the Web. Some modules that can be used for this type of site include a slide show, events calendar, and a guest book. Weblogs cover many different topics. Your blog can be used to share information with relatives and friends. It can include recipes, graduation announcements, birthdays, or vacation pictures. Basically anything that you are interested in can be shared with others on your blog. You can allow others to post comments on your blog. The sky s the limit!!
This class is for anyone that is interested in creating a personal web site or blog. This class will teach you the basics of the Drupal Content Management System.

*Flash ActionScript 3.0*
Currently ActionScript 3.0 is the internal programming language of Flash, Flex and Adobe AIR. This object oriented language is more adherent to the ECMA-262 standard which many other languages (i.e. JavaScript) follow.
This class gives non-programmers a chance to really understand the benefits of using a programming language in an animation tool like Adobe Flash. Students will learn the basics of the core language of ActionScript 3.0, how it is used within the timeline, interact with objects (movieclips) on the stage and library, develop simple animations with just ActionScript and understand the importance and how to create preloaders for your movies.
This beginner class on ActionScript 3.0 will give you a great foundation for creating (or understanding existing scripts) your own custom scripts.

*Photography Basics III*
Photography Basic III HDR (High Dynamic Range) & Panorama Stitching online course will introduce you to the world of High Dynamic Range (HDR) images. These images can also be combined into a single panorama image and the first two weeks of this course will concentrate on how to produce a panorama image using standard JPG images. HDR will increase the dynamic range of your images. Many times our exposures will have blown out highlights and look flat and dull. HDR will help you solve this problem and reveal highlight and shadow details you never thought were possible.
Instructor Al Mierau has been an avid photographer for over 50 years. For 15 years he was professionally photographing commercial and residential structures for mortgage, fire insurance, and courtroom evidence. Air Canada, Gardens West Prairie Edition, and Heritage Canada magazines have published his photographs. Some of his work can also be seen at the Menno-Hof museum located in Shipshewana, Indiana.

This is the first of a two part course and contains Lessons 1-6. It must be taken before taking the second class, More Photoshop Elements 8 Basics, which contains Lessons 7-12.
