Artisteer Prize Awarded In Joomla! Fast Track Class

Congratulations to longtime student Pat Woolf for being the chosen winner of the Artisteer prize!

Each session students in the Joomla! Fast Track online class are eligible to win this prize courtesy of Artisteer. At the end of the session, students submit their vote anonymously for the student that they feel has been the most help on the class board either by asking good questions or helping others.

The instructor of the Joomla! Fast Track online course, Hils Cheyne says this of her student Pat, “she was brilliant and worked so hard to finish the course!”

Online Class Winner from Twittercruise Contest

Melissa is ecstatic that she actually won something on the computer! Melissa is one of the Twitter by the Sea winners by answering a question correctly and before anyone else. She won the $25 gift certificate sponsored by LVS Online Classes.

Melissa is considering taking the online piano course, but there is just one drawback – she’d have to buy a piano! Her other considerations are photography and web development. I say, “hey, the classes at LVS Online are so affordable (actually free for Melissa) – register for the piano class and buy a piano!

Whichever she decides, we look forward to seeing Melissa in class!

This contest is open to all students and ends January 7, 2009.

3 WAYS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE CONTEST DRAWING!

1. Create an item for download from the LVS Library http://students.lvsonline.com/ – examples: PSP Picture Tube, PSP Picture Frame, PSP Brush, Photoshop Brush, Photoshop Preset. Submit as many you’d like to contest@lvsonline.com

Images submitted remain the property of the owner. Any Copyright violations remain the sole responsibility of the person who submitted the image(s).

When submitting images, please include your First and Last name. Submission of an item signifies your permission for LVS to offer it for download on the Student Library site: http://students.lvsonline.com/. If you wish, at any point to have your image(s) removed, it is up to you to e-mail us with that request. Please allow sufficient time for the removal of the requested image.

LVS will remove any image where claims of Copyright violation have been made by another party.

2. If you have a website or blog, create a link back to LVS Online. You may use one of the images here: http://www.lvsonline.com/logos.shtml or create your own image or a text link. You must email us with the URL of the web page that contains the link back. (one page per web site only please) Submit link to contest@lvsonline.com

3. Write a review about LVS on our Google Local Business page. Just follow this URL http://tinyurl.com/5tdeo2 and click on the Review link. NOTE: If you don’t have a Google account, you will need to create one to sign in.

For each graphic, link back, and review you submit you will be entered into a drawing.

Final prizes will be announced Dec. 10 but they will include:
Corel KPT
Corel Knockout 2
Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2
LVS Hosting Starter Account (includes domain name)
Free LVS Class

LVS Contest Winner!

Excellent Class Referral Response! Contest! November Registration!

For those of you that referred a new student to LVS in the September 2008 session, your LVS Gift Voucher is on its way!  We had excellent referral responses from our returning students.  Keep up the great work referring new students to LVS Online Classes and earn $5 for each referral!

We are in the process of developing a contest for our September 2008 session students – it will be announced soon.  We plan to also offer another contest for our November 2008 session students.  We hope to have a lot of participation because we have a lot of GREAT PRIZES to give away!  Details will be provided to our students soon.

The November session registration will open on Monday, September 29th – we have several new classes to offer – watch for a list of those on the LVS Updates sent out via email.

LVS celebrates 9 year anniversary

This Fall will commemorate the nine year anniversary of LVS. It’s hard to believe that LVS has been around for 39 sessions now! Over the course of these 39 sessions, LVS has grown by leaps and bounds! When LVS first began, there were 5 classes offered: Writing Workshop, HTML 4, PSP, First Web Page, and Intro to Creative Writing. LVS currently offers over 160 classes and has 50 assistants and instructors on staff!

LVS has you, the student, to thank for making this online school a success. As you know, the mission of LVS is to offer quality classes at affordable prices. But more importantly, it’s the relaxed and helpful atmosphere at LVS, which in turn makes learning fun, that draws the attention of most students. This is what LVS strives for and this is what makes LVS different from other online schools.

It’s the dedicated students that have made LVS what it is today and what we see it being in the future. We hope you have enjoyed LVS as much as we enjoyed having you in the classrooms. Because of you, we hope LVS will be around for a long time to come.
