LVS celebrates 9 year anniversary

May 10th, 2008 lvs Posted in Announcements | 9 Comments »

This Fall will commemorate the nine year anniversary of LVS. It’s hard to believe that LVS has been around for 39 sessions now! Over the course of these 39 sessions, LVS has grown by leaps and bounds! When LVS first began, there were 5 classes offered: Writing Workshop, HTML 4, PSP, First Web Page, and Intro to Creative Writing. LVS currently offers over 160 classes and has 50 assistants and instructors on staff!

LVS has you, the student, to thank for making this online school a success. As you know, the mission of LVS is to offer quality classes at affordable prices. But more importantly, it’s the relaxed and helpful atmosphere at LVS, which in turn makes learning fun, that draws the attention of most students. This is what LVS strives for and this is what makes LVS different from other online schools.

It’s the dedicated students that have made LVS what it is today and what we see it being in the future. We hope you have enjoyed LVS as much as we enjoyed having you in the classrooms. Because of you, we hope LVS will be around for a long time to come.

Watch our site for some exciting contests and draws when the 40th session at LVS begins in September!

  1. Hi Vikki,

You should have a party or something. I remember taking classes at LVS back in 2000. No matter where on the ‘net I may roam, I always come back here. The halls are familiar, the classrooms cozy and the staff is incredible. Congratulations on nine years of excellence!

I wish more people knew about LVSOnline. They are missing out!!!

    Great job everybody!!!

  3. I am trying to remember back to when I first starting classes at LVS Online. I am too old to remember way back when :-)
The classes here have been a great supplement to my coursework while I was earning my degree in web development. I am proud to now be an instructor at such a fine school that offers inexpensive learning to “everyday folk” and those that are pursuing career dreams.

  4. I took my first classes here in 2002. Bryce and Poser classes. Without you I would probably still be lost!

Since then, thanks to you, I have coded my own website, learned Flash and php, learned my way around Painter, and many other things.

I’m always telling people they should head over here. I love this place ;)

  5. Time sure flies when you’re having fun! I’ve been here since LVS started and I think it’s the best thing in distance learning. Congrats Kat and Vikki. You’ve done a super job.

  6. I think there were about 7 or 8 classes here when I took my first HTML 4.0 class at LVS. I don’t even want to THINK about the number of classes I’ve taken since then, not to mention the ones I’ve taught or assisted with.
We’ve come a long way, baby, and we’re still young yet!

    Have fun!

  7. I remember well when LVS was just a brand new school. I was one of the first students. My first class at LVS was PSP and I really enjoyed it. I have been taking classes here every since. Has it really been nine years? WOW!! Time really flies.

  8. This is all great info! Thanks

  9. [...] Little did I know, that this would be the beginning of LVS for me. I met Vikki at this online learning institution while taking some of the same classes and we became good friends. From her helping me to learn such things as how to develop web pages to using Paint Shop Pro, I knew Vikki was a pretty smart cookie. Eventually, with all of the vast computer knowledge Vikki had, she finally decided to spread her wings and develop her own online school – hence LVS Online Classes was founded in 1999. [...]
