I love ALL your classes! Ive been taking them for a while.
Peter Mayer’s photoshop filter classes are amazing! I am planning to take them again.
Bean Fairbanks Dreamweaver class is wonderful. I will have to repeat that class again as my Mac blew its power supply and I ended at lesson 4.
But thats OK, as I had planned to take it again anyway.
This DW class is fun too, as several of us from a Photoshop class of Sara’s had decided to take it together.
I also will take the CSS class. And Ive been taking Sara’s classes forever too, though most of them are at EA. Arent both these schools connected somehow? Your format is similar and youve got some of the same wonderful instructors.
Gee, this is getting long, but I sure can say that discovering LVS and EA is the best thing I ever did with learning. I am retired and love learning at my leasure, not having to drive anywhere. Ive told lots of frends from my Mac classes about LVS too.
So LVS is just amazing, just what we wanted, and the most fun while we are learning, keep up the great classes and we will always be back for more.
This is long enough, though I do have more to say,
Thank you!

Peggy,
You did a great job of pulling together a blog for your friend. I am impressed with how well it all came together. Political blogs can be a very powerful medium for information exchange

I was in blogging class too and what an excellent class it was. I think the most exciting thing was finding that people other than my classmates have actually been finding me via the social networking sites and Google.

Hi Jane,
LVS started back in 1999 - EA started a couple years later. Micki, the owner, was a student at LVS - see what LVS did for her! LOL…actually, there are a couple other LVS students/instructors that also started their own online schools specializing in particular areas. Thanks for your post Jane - we hope to see much more of you at LVS - it’s always a pleasure to see you around the “halls”
No, LVS and EA are not connected - only in the sense that they are both online schools

Hi Anita,
Thanks for posting!
Ahhhh…..blogging is just another way to bring people together. Isn’t it great?

I have been taking classes at LVS for quite some time and have enjoyed every one of them. The Instructors are the best ever!
I just finished the VUE Intermediate class. I learned so much during this class and Peggy was an extraordinary Instructor! Her ways of explaining the lessons were so very easy to understand. And, when a problem was encountered, she responded immediately.
I plan to continue taking classes at LVS indefinitely. I am proud to be a part of this wonderful group!!!

What are the links to some of the LVS students specializing classes? I would like to take a look at what they offer, knowing that some of the students here are experts in their fields. Also some of the classes have been discontinued, and some are self study, so it might be fun to see what the former students have added.
I couldnt remember, but I knew Micki had a connection, these 2 schools have done more for my learning than anything that I have ever taken at a night school or the like.
Hi Beth,
Yes, please put your links here in this great blog.
And I forgot to add how wonderful Britt McCary’s Bryce and Terragen classes are, we had a T-storm coming and I shut down the computer quickly and forgot to add this.
I didnt realize how extensive that this blog is! So glad you made it, Ive been looking at some of the PS posts and more.

No I hadn’t made it here yet, Jane.
I just got finished taking the Dreamweaver CS3 Introduction class and was encouraged by Bean, the instructor, to post my final pages here. I have learned so much in this class but also see the need to learn some more. Several of us from that class plan of taking the CSS class offered by LVS in the fall. And we hope that Bean has an Intermediate class in DW planned so we can take it afterward.
This is not my first class from LVS. I also took the KPT filters class and Sara’s PSFX class both of which I really enjoyed and learned some really neat things. This school has brought high quality teaching to students at a very reasonable price and I will continue to take classes here.
My final Dreamweaver Pages.

I was in the blogging class as well and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning the ins and outs of blogging. Bean is a great instructor and she really taught us a lot about this strange new world.
June 17th, 2008 at 4:00 pm
I am also thinking of taking the blogging class too, as my old blogs are not very fancy. But their purpose was really to make them into photo albums where family and friends could comment and add.
So many wonderful classes to take!

I’ve taken 2 classes now through LVS, one for personal interest and one for professional needs.I have found in both instances instructors have been to a high standard and their class PDFs very helpful. Often I buy books and learn software on my own. Sometimes that works but not always and especially with something like Adobe Illustrator taking the beginner class was terrific in getting me up the first hill of the learning curve where the books had confused me.
For the price I am very satisfied with LVS and will certainly take more classes in the future.

Hello everyone. I am just completing Photoshop CS3 with Sonja & Vikki. First you must understand that I’m not the brightest bulb in the chandelier. CS3 can get complicated and frustrating. But with the patience and helpfulness of the above instructors, frustration was minimized and the learning experience was incredible. We have just barely scratched the surface of CS3 but that is the nature of Photoshop. So many options and so many combinations. This course has really been an excellent experience. I would definitely recommend these courses for anyone wanting to expand their knowledge. I can hardly wait until the next CS3 course becomes available.

I also must say that Sara’s classes are the best of the best!
Ive been taking her classes from my very beginning of computer learning, and have learned so much that I just can’t begin to say. My classwork albums are mostly on pbase.com, as I didn’t have my own site then.
Sara brought me into the Photoshop Elements world which I never would have been able to do without her lessons. Being an amateur photographer, her lessons opened a whole new world to me.
There is a group of us who have gone thru Sara’s lessons together, we have remained in contact and are taking DW and other classes together too. Sara has quite a ‘following’.

I’m just finishing up the blogging class shortly and have finished the Painter Intro. As usual I’m delighted I was here, although I highly recommend 1 course at a time…LOL, I’ll need the break. Karen helped me to actually be able to work a brush or two without crashing Painter, and Bean did an excellent job of helping me to decide what I wanted to do with blogging, saving me lots of time and money…and another addiction….sigh!

I am just finishing Photoshop Elements 6 and it is a terrific class. Vikki is a great teacher! I have taken numerous classes through the years with LVS and have leaned from, and enjoyed, every one of them. I have recommended LVS to many friends and family members. Keep up the great work - fall classes will be here before we know it

Hi,
Just completed Build Your Website 1.
I really was pleased to be in the class, taught by Deb.
She made what could have been a frustrating process in to one where she was a hands on, always there tutor, who didn’t mind pointing out the same error more than once with such good grace and helpfulness.
A touch of humor, always bubbling under, with respect for us students that was apparent in every response to our lessons.
She is the best.
I’m on to Build 11, and Deb tells us good things about that course, so I know I’ll like the tutor there already
Thanks, Deb - be lucky:-)
Kind regards,
Dolores

Hi,
I’m just finishing up Bean’s Blogging class. I learned so much, my head is spinning, lol. I’ve been taking LVS classes since 2000 and credit them with my ability to create web pages, play with JavaScript, do a little tweaking in PHP, get the most from my digital cameras, and on and on. As far as I’m concerned, LVS is the #1 online school.
Btw, here’s the link to the blog I created through Bean’s class, and yes, Bean, I know I need to add some posts…..

Been busy reading your lessons.

What I like about LVS is that you can work on you assignments whenever you can make the time and yes you NEED to make time for the classes. Another thing is just how though the classes are in there scope. If you want to learn something New or learn more about a topic. This is the place.

Digital Dark room with PSPXI
I want to thank both Instructor: Phyllis List and her
Assistant: Carol Bartl
Just joined LVS online at the beginning of this session have been taking both the Photography basics class and this one.
What a great class - What a great class and great feed back on my work, I would have spent months if not years learning what you have shown me over the past few weeks. By time I really get more practice in learning what you have taught me - corel will come out with several upgrades. A great reason to come back and visit again.
I will definetly be taking more classes though LVS and will recommend it my friends and family
I am already working on a new website and will be publishing it here this summer. With all new photos of the finger lakes region here in New York.

After finishing Bean’s blogging class
my head is swirling from so much learning.
I have undertaken web oriented classes at LVS since 2001 and enjoy them all. I hope Bean /LVS will consider Blogging 1 and Blogging 2 down the line.
Bean did a great job in preparing the weekly lessons That covered a lot of ground.
Warning to those who take this course. !
Blogging is addictive and your time budget may crash, but if you choose a topic that you are passionate about, get with it and write, edit, write , edit and publish. You will enjoy seeing results of your efforts.
I really recommend this course to learn what blogging is really about.

Just wrapped up Build II. WOW what a learning experience. I’d have to say that the CSS positioning is my favorite part of this class. Now, on to Build III. Vikki Brooks, here I come!

Three cheers and a hearty “thanks, dearie!” out to Val P. for an excellently written series of lessons for Advanced Corel X3 … I’ve been using Corel since 1993 and consider myself proficient with the software and I STILL found new things to learn. Val’s very patient and a cheerful, warm instructor; the class is well worth twice the price. I’ve taken several LVS classes over the years in various software programs (Corel, Illustrator, Terragen, Painter, etc.) and I know I’ll be here again for more as new updates and new versions arrive.
A side note to Val - hope the moving goes well!!

I’m finishing up Bean Fairbanks’ blogging class and cannot praise her highly enough. I’ve come from nothing to this so far: http://www.barbarahartsook.com. With miles to go before I finish all that Bean has given us in six weeks’ lessons.
I also thank my fellow students there; without their constant help I’d still be trying to figure out how to climb my own learning curve, which has gone straight up once more. I love learning new things, and EVERYTHING technical about this blogging stuff has been new. I’m a little bit smarter now… but not so smart I don’t plan to take the class again in the fall. (See you then, Bean…)
I’ve taken painting classes here before, and have several others on my list to take. (Seems I’m never without a class of some kind.
)
I vote with Elaina — LVS is a happenin’ place!

Like so many others here, I took Bean’s Blogging class. Bean’s lessons were packed full of priceless information for the beginning blogger. I will be keeping them close by for reference and I have a feeling I will be referencing them frequently!
Due to Bean’s class, I was able to get 2 blogs up and running, both of which I am very proud of. Her class came at a time of transition for me. I had just sold my web design company and was ready to move forward with something new, which turned out to be blogging.
One thing I’d like to mention is the feedback Bean gave me. If I did a good job on a post, she was quick to praise. However, she would also point out areas that could use improvement. Her suggestions were a gold mine to me and will remain with me as I strive towards becoming a blogger whose name is recognized my field of expertise.
Thank you, Bean, for your dedication and expertise. Thank you LVS for offering classes that are not only affordable, but that are - by far - more educational than the classes I’ve taken at a local community college.

I just wrapped up Beginning Web Development with ASP.NET (Frank Stepanski) and Introduction to Database Development using MySQL (Bean Fairbanks). Both were great classes. I have previously taken classes for Bryce and Flash. I really enjoy LVS and their wonderful staff (and students) & hope to see you all again in the fall.

Bean’s Blogging Class is one of the most informative classes I have taken at LVS. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a veteran to blogging, this class provides the answers to your questions.
June 25th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
I have taken many classes at LVS Online over the years.
This session I signed up for 3 classes (which turned out to be a little overwhelming) and I could not have gotten through them all without the help of the wonderful instructors as well as the well-written course material.
FlashFX Part 2 - by Becky and Kat
http://www.cathyscorner2.com/lvs8/index.html
This was my third Flash class and Kat was wonderful (as usual). She was always there with a compliment or to answer a question. Flash is so much fun and this course made learning new things with Flash fun, too!
Thanks, Kat!
Build Your Website I - by Deb
http://www.cathyscorner2.com/lvs6/index.html
This was my “why not” course. I’ve been creating web sites for years and when I saw this course I thought “why not” take it? Maybe I’ll learn something new. MAYBE??? MAYBE??? Huh, this was the toughest course of all. I had to unlearn so many things that I had been (and I’m sorry to say continue…for now) doing wrong in order to learn the acceptable practices for web design. Deb was a great instructor, although I think if I saw “revisit required” one more time I would have pulled my hair out! LOL
Deb was there to answer questions and point you in the right direction to find the information you needed to complete each lesson. I had to go back and re-read several lessons over the course, but in the end it was worth it! I actually LEARNED the basics of web design.
Thanks, Deb!
Understanding JavaScript - by Mary Rich
http://www.cathyscorner2.com/lvs7/index.html
This was another fun course. I had used Java scripting in the past and managed to tweak some scripts, but after this course I feel confident that I can alter just about any script to make it work for my personal needs.
Thanks, Mary!
I would definitely recommend LVS Online to anyone looking to learn a new skill or hone up on an old one.
I put a link to all my LVS assignment pages on my main page so visitors can access ALL my assignments…past and present.

Re: Blogging for Fun, Fame & Fortune. Excellent class! A gold mine of information. Student support and camaraderie like I’ve never seen before in an online class. ‘Can’t say enough great things about LVS and this class in particular.
